本作は主人公「スター・ロード」を始め、「ガモーラ」「ドラックス」などといったマーベルの人気ヒーローが多数登場する作品『アベンジャーズ』がテーマのアクションアドベンチャーゲーム。
プレイヤーはチーム「ガーディアンズ・オブ・ギャラクシー」のリーダー。自分たちが起こした"ある事件"がきっかけで、宇宙を巻き込む自体に発展してしまう。
どこか憎たらしくも愛おしい仲間たちとともに、宇宙を駆け巡り、驚異に立ち向かおう。
