About this game

Note: Requires NVIDIA K1 or X1 hardware. Supports both touch-screen and controllers. Tested to work with: NVIDIA Shield TV, NVIDIA Shield Tablet and Google Nexus 9

The Talos Principle is a first-person puzzle game in the tradition of philosophical science fiction. Made by Croteam, the creators of Serious Sam, and written by Tom Jubert (FTL, The Swapper) and Jonas Kyratzes (The Sea Will Claim Everything). One of the most critically acclaimed PC games in 2014, The Talos Principle is now available on select Android devices.

As if awakening from a deep sleep, you find yourself in a strange, contradictory world of ancient ruins and advanced technology. Tasked by your creator with solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles, you must decide whether to have faith or to ask the difficult questions: Who are you? What is your purpose? And what are you going to do about it?

FEATURES:
• Overcome more than 120 immersive puzzles in a stunning world.
• Divert drones, manipulate laser beams and even replicate time to prove your worth - or to find a way out.
• Explore a story about humanity, technology and civilization. Uncover clues, devise theories, and make up your own mind.
• Choose your own path through the game's non-linear world, solving puzzles your way.
• But remember: choices have consequences and somebody's always watching you.

Got it since it was on sale for $0.99, and just echoing what Benjamin McLean said, but for me it NEVER seemed to make an Talos.ini file in "/[Where your stuff is stored]/Android/data/com.devolver.Talos/files/" even though it had storage permission. So I made one in notepad with just(no quote marks or space: "gfx_strAPI = "VLK";" And copied it there via the "Shield's transfer files over local network" option. Seriously, if you can bother putting it on sale, you can bother fixing this simple issue. Even more so when very few devices support it....

Game immediately crashes on launch. To make the game work on the nVidia Shield TV, you need to create a file called "Talos.ini" containing the text, ` gfx_strAPI = "VLK"; ` in the location "Android\data\com.devolver.Talos\files\Talos.ini" Good game, but it gets a one-star rating because I shouldn't have to do this. The developers have clearly abandoned the Android version. I'll update this review to five stars if they make this simple one-line-of-code fix. (later edit) The newest nVidia SHIELD TV OS update broke this workaround. Now the Talos Principle just flat out doesn't work at all, along with all other SHIELD games that use the GPU for 3D graphics. If Croteam isn't going to fix this then it should be removed from sale.

Alexander Ramsay, thank you! Editing the Talos.ini file works, however its worth copying it to another folder-editing it and then using the new file to copy over the old one, otherwise the changes don't take effect. Croteam should be on top of this but there are so few Talos android users that they just wait for you to contact them..
